Kuraray Poval™
KURARAY POVAL™ is the brand name of our globally produced polyvinyl alcohol. It features water-solubility, excellent film-forming characteristics, high tensile strength and elasticity. When mixed with cement powder, water, dispersant and defoamer, it will prevent fluid loss in cementing formation operations. It is also an excellent binder and compatible with other cement additives. It contributes to fast and cost-efficient oil well construction.
Mowiflex™
MOWIFLEX™ is a water-soluble, non-toxic thermoplastic material based on polyvinyl alcohol. It can be processed using conventional plastic processing technology, such as extrusion or injection molding. MOWIFLEX™ grades are available with various dissolution characteristics and melt viscosities to fit the requirements of your application.
PolyLoc™
POLY LOC™ is water-soluble and biodegradable. A white granular, asymmetrical, free-flowing solid, it is composed of a non-toxic base material. It can withstand temperature ranges between 70°F (20°C) and 220°F (104°C). The particle size is under 6 US Mesh. Specific gravity is 1.1-1.3. Because of its water-solubility regardless of pH, it dissolves quickly to reduce the non-productive time without the need to add acid.
Genestar™
GENESTAR™ heat-resistant polyamide resin is a high-performance polymer. When compared to competitive plastics, it offers greater temperature and chemical resistance, as well as permeation properties. Many products transported in the O&G industry can be severe to handle (i.e., corrosive, flammable, etc.). GENESTAR™ helps overcome these severities.
EVAL™
Kuraray has manufactured and marketed ethylene vinyl-alcohol copolymers (EVOH) under the name EVAL™ since 1972. EVAL™ EVOH is commercially available in resins (plastic pellets for co-extrusion) and films (for lamination). For the O&G pipeline industry, incorporating a thin layer of EVAL™ into a multilayer polyolefin pipe can significantly reduce operational costs associated with metal pipe corrosion.
SentryGlas®
SentryGlas® Interlayer for laminated safety glazing outperforms other current technologies in laminated glass. It offers five times the tear strength and 100 times the rigidity of a conventional PVB interlayer. Because of its added strength, clarity, durability, fabrication and installation ease, it is an excellent candidate for demanding applications where sight is key.
Septon™ & Kuraray Liquid Rubber
SEPTON™ resins are a series of styrenic-based thermoplastic rubbers developed by Kuraray. These products are hydrogenated di-block and tri-block styrene copolymers that exhibit rubber-like properties over a broad temperature range.
KURARAY LIQUID RUBBER includes Liquid Isoprene Rubber (LIR) and Liquid Butadiene Rubber (LBR). These high-viscosity synthetic rubbers are produced with isoprene, butadiene and styrene. They are colorless, transparent and almost entirely odorless, with low VOC’s.
Calgon Carbon
Calgon Carbon, a Kuraray Group company, is the world leader in activated carbon technology – a form of carbon that has small, low-volume pores that increase the surface area available for chemical reactions. Natural gas refiners depend on activated carbons to remove contaminants and to capture mercury compounds that can harm process equipment. Activated carbons are also used in gasoline-vapor recovery equipment. Calgon Carbon has been a major supplier to the worldwide petroleum refining industry for more than 40 years.
Calgon Carbon HGR
HGR is a family of granular or pelletized activated carbon materials that are impregnated with sulfur and made from select grades of bituminous coal and suitable binders to create the unique pore structure and superior hardness necessary for intended services. After activation, the sulfur is distributed in a thin layer over the extensive internal surface area of the carbon.
Vectran™
VECTRAN™ fiber is a high-performance, multifilament yarn and the first commercially available, melt-spun LCP fiber in the world. Known for its exceptional strength and rigidity, VECTRAN™ fiber is the material of choice in applications such as deepwater lifting and mooring cables. Pound for pound, Vectran™ is five times stronger than steel and ten times stronger than aluminum.
