April 20, 2021

HOUSTON – Kuraray announces the decision to increase the prices of its EVOH products globally (ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer; Kuraray trademark: EVAL) for shipments commencing May 1, 2021.

This price increase is in response to the extraordinary impact of winter storm Uri and the need to partially offset extremes in energy and raw material escalations that have followed.  Kuraray will seek to recover these amplified costs through the combination of this price increase and temporary surcharges.

Kuraray will continue to optimize productivity and pursue all reasonable means to mitigate and control costs to support the EVAL™ EVOH product line.

Customers will be contacted and provided specific price details from their account managers directly.

Kuraray sincerely appreciates the patience, flexibility and support to work through this difficult situation together.  If you have any questions about this announcement, please do not hesitate to contact your sales representative.
