Kuraray Co., Ltd.
Hattersheim am Main, October 19, 2016 – At K 2016 in Düsseldorf, Japanese specialty chemicals company Kuraray is showcasing its combined expertise for the automotive industry for the first time. The products highlighted offer a wide range of performance, design and production benefits for the automotive industry.
“Kuraray has been an efficient supplier to the automotive industry for many years. We want to align our products even more closely to applications in this sector in the future and to step up solutions tailored to customers’ requirements,” explains Yoshiki Kuroki, Managing Director of Kuraray Europe GmbH.
Convincing automotive solutions
The challenges facing the automotive industry are rising steadily: improved performance and safety, optimized design, more comfort and a reduction in weight to enhance fuel economy are just some examples. “These high demands can be met with Kuraray’ s extensive range of high-performance materials,” says Yoshiki Kuroki.
For example, Kuraray Liquid Rubber (K-LR) significantly improves tire performance by balancing grip, fuel efficiency and rolling resistance. The excellent barrier properties of EVALTM EVOH (ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer) keep light weight plastic fuel systems in full compliance with strict emission regulations. Using Kuraray’ s hook & loop fasteners to install interior components enhances design flexibility, raises productivity and reduces overall weight. The highly transparent Parapet® (methacrylic resin) has excellent surface hardness and is often used instead of glass for cockpit glazing.
Highlights for the consumer goods and packaging industry as well
“That is naturally only a small sample of our range,” says Carmen Mundt, Marketing Specialist Elastomer. “Visitors to our booth will also find information on new developments for many other segments.” Alongside products for the automotive industry, Kuraray is exhibiting products for consumer goods, for example, KURARAY POVALTM and Mowital® for 3D printing. For the packaging industry, Kuraray will be showcasing PLANTICTM, which contains up to 80 percent renewable raw materials and is used in the production of trays und vacuum skin packaging with high barrier properties.
By focusing its presence at K 2016 on the automotive industry, Kuraray aims to convince even more customers in this sector of its expertise.
